Zoey Maya
Custodial Resident
APEST: Shepherd | Spouse: Alessis Maya
Background: I’m a born and (partially) raised Texan. I lived there until I was 6 years old and then my family and I moved to England. I lived there for 9 years and then moved back to Texas when I was 15. I loved small town Texas and it’s now my second home! Back in Texas, I was so blessed to have a church that was super focused on discipleship/mentoring. They spiritually raised me, helped me figure out how to blend my love for music into worshiping the Lord. They provided me with an internship where I got to help work with the youth kids and organize some of their events like Disciple Now, fundraisers and usual Wednesday night activities. It was at that church (and high school) that I found and married my husband. He’s currently in the USMC and stationed here in San Diego. The first Sunday I moved here, we searched “churches near me”, found Grace and immediately loved. It felt a lot like the church back in Breckenridge, so it felt like home. We’ve been at Grace ever since. We now attend and partly serve in our Young Adults house church!
Current role: At Grace I am a Resident Custodian, helping take a load off the shoulders of Charlene, the head Custodian. I clean the Counseling Center and Patrons buildings. For a very long time, I wanted a cleaning job like this. I love cleaning, and it’s such a blessing I can use something I love to serve the church and people that I love.
Hobbies: singing, cooking, having fun with my dogs
Fun fact: I also LOVE acting and directing. I had an AMAZING director in high school that helped and sparked my passion for both!
