MEMBERSHIP AT GRACE.

Committed to a family on mission.

WHY CHURCH MEMBERSHIP?

Church membership is a commitment to belong—to move from simply attending Grace Church to owning the mission alongside a spiritual family. While the word "membership" isn't explicitly in the Bible, Scripture consistently points to local believers gathering under leadership, practicing accountability, and living out their faith in community. We believe that formalizing your commitment to a church body isn't just a modern process—it's a biblical response to Jesus' call to follow Him in the context of His Church. Membership is how we say, "I'm all in."

WHAT IS A MEMBER?

A Grace Church Member is someone who is wholly committed to what God has called us to do as a church and is actively seeking all of our values together with other Members. Our church is only as strong as the body of believers is united and committed to the mission.

This is what Grace Church asks from its members: that they would all have the responsibility in fulfilling the mission of Grace Church San Diego. Grace Members commit to professing Jesus as Lord, being His disciples, making disciples, functioning as a family, organizing around mission, and mutually submitting to one another.

HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER?

One becomes a Member of Grace Church by first attending one of our Membership Weekends and then signing a Membership Commitment Form. Membership Weekend is held 2-3 times per year on a Friday evening - Saturday morning at the church. Meals and childcare are provided!

The interactive weekend, directed by Pastors and Church Staff, is focused around learning what it means to be a fully committed resilient disciple-maker dedicated to our Grace community who uses their giftings for the Lord. Pastors cover Grace’s mission, theological beliefs, values, contexts for involvement, spiritual gifts, Member commitments, and Q&A. Our next Membership Weekend is August 15—16, 2025.
