Welcome!
We are so excited to come alongside you as you step into the gift and adventure of marriage! That’s why we offer premarital counseling to help you build a strong foundation and start your marriage with Jesus Christ at the center. We want to help you begin well so your marriage can reflect Christ’s love for years to come. We also offer wedding officiating by our pastors, house church leaders and elders for couples who want their ceremony to be centered on Jesus and grounded in God’s design for marriage.
What We Believe about marriage
We believe that marriage is a sacred covenant that was created by God and reserved for one man and one woman.
We believe that marriage is for a lifetime and is marked by faithfulness, friendship, and sacrificial love.
We believe that Jesus Christ should be at the center of every marriage as the source of love and commitment.
We believe that both people that are getting married should be followers of Christ or willing to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

One of our pastors, your house church leader, or elders. You can request someone specific when you fill out the request form, but it’s not guaranteed that they will be available.

Most of the individuals that officiate weddings here at Grace will require that you complete premarital counseling. But there are some that are willing to officiate without this requirement.

Yes! You can have your wedding and reception here at the church. You can request more information when you fill out the officiant request form.

Premarital Counseling
Premarital counseling at Grace Church San Diego is designed to help couples prepare for a strong and healthy marriage.
In a supportive, Christ-centered environment, you’ll talk through key areas like communication, conflict, expectations, finances, intimacy, family dynamics, and spiritual leadership. You’ll receive practical tools, guidance, and encouragement as you take this next step together.
We want to help you build a healthy, God-honoring marriage rooted in the love of Jesus.
SYMBIS Assessment
At Grace, we use the SYMBIS Assessment (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) SYMBIS is designed to give you a personalized roadmap for your relationship that is not just good advice, but Godly wisdom tailored to both of you.
With SYMBIS, you’ll explore:
Your Money Methods — kick financial friction to the curb and align
your money habits so you can pursue shared dreams with unity.
Your Personalities — unpack your unique personality dynamics, not
only as individuals, but as a couple learning to thrive together.
Your Fight Types — discover your “hot topics,” and learn how to leverage
conflict in a way that strengthens (instead of strains) your relationship.
Your Love Life — cultivate deeper intimacy and enduring passion with practical guidance for a lifetime of love and fulfillment.
SYMBIS helps you prepare for real marriage so you can step into your future with confidence, wisdom, and a foundation that lasts.

Engaged couples who want to build a strong foundation centered around God.

You can take the assessment even if you’re not engaged yet. If your relationship is getting serious, it can be a helpful step.

About 30 minutes per person to complete, and each person answers the questions separately.

Once both of you complete it, your facilitator is notified and will connect with you about scheduling/next steps.

SYMBIS generates a customized report and includes content specific to things like second marriages and blending a family.

SYMBIS is designed to explore areas like money, personality dynamics, conflict styles, communication, and intimacy, so you can grow in understanding and unity before the wedding.

The assessment costs $35 per couple.

If you’d like professional care, Grace Church San Diego can refer you to the Grace Counseling Center, a fee-based counseling center rooted in Biblical truth.
They offer support for couples (including those who are dating or engaged).
