Counselors NEEDED

Grace Church San Diego is a growing church with a focus on making resilient disciples of Jesus and being good news to our North Park community. We recognize one of the biggest needs in our community is Gospel-Centered counseling. In October of 2024, we will be opening the doors of a brand new Grace Counseling Center right on our church campus. We are looking for Christian Counselors who are excited to do a new thing and put their credentials to work in an environment that freely encourages integration of the Gospel.

ABOUT GRACE CHURCH COUNSELING CENTER

Our vision for the Grace Counseling Center is a Gospel-Centered clinically informed counseling center for the whole person that provides individual, group, and family therapy services to individuals within our church as well as those outside our church.

Our counseling center, which exists as a separate, newly renovated building on our church campus will have six offices as well as a reception area, kitchenette, bathroom, and dedicated parking. Our goal is to have a minimum of six counselors who are excited to practice their expertise in conjunction with our explicit values (Christ Centered, Clinically Informed, Church Partnering, Community Renewing).

As a member of our Counseling Center staff, a counselor is expected to fully embrace these core values and seek to teach them to others as well.

Additionally, all staff are expected to agree with and adhere to our Affirmation of Faith, Bylaws, and other governing documents defining the culture and strategy.

MEET GRACE CHURCH

The Grace Counseling Center was born out of Grace Church, which has served North Park and San Diego with the Gospel for over 100 years. We are passionate about the church being a family on mission with a vibrant Sunday gathering filled with missionary people making disciples and living in community during the week.

Grace San Diego was established in 1912. Grace, for several years, was known as “Scott Memorial Baptist” before the name was changed to Grace Church San Diego in 2009.

In December of 2021 when Lead Pastor Josh Martin came to Grace, the Staff and Elder Team refocused the vision to: Making Resilient Disciples who reorient their lives to the way of Jesus. Our church attendance has more than doubled.

We have made major renovations to our church property as we prepare to put in a Counseling Center and public Coffee Shop that will serve our neighborhood community. Today, we continue to grow with a strong foundation on Biblical truth and a focus on being family on mission in North Park and San Diego.

FAQs

  • We believe clinical therapy and the truth of the Gospel can work together to heal those who’ve been made in God's image. Brokenness is a result of living in a world fractured by sin. Therefore, we believe we must address issues of suffering while also exploring the complex and largely hidden desires of the soul. We believe Jesus and his ultimate sacrifice must be integrated into a person’s journey towards wholeness.
