April 2010

1. The Lord blessed in the purchase of a different car – a 4 cylinder Chevy Malibu.  My son-in-law, Pablo accompanied me in going to the dealerships and in doing the talking!  He was such a blessing and I am thankful to the Lord for a very good deal and to now have something reliable. I still owe a little more.

2.  The Executive Board of TMI invited me to become a member of the board so this is now an added responsibility and I do need wisdom as together with the Lord we move this organization ahead for the Kingdom.

3.  I will be going this month with two of the other members of the leadership team to Autlan, Jalisco, Mexico for a conference and to talk with our TMI missionaries in that area.  I do want to be a blessing to everyone at that time. I would appreciate your prayers for this trip.

Questions People Ask?

1. Are you happy with what you are doing? Would you not rather take life a little easier?

It would be very difficult for me not to be involved full time in the Lord's work. I can't even imagine any other schedule at this time in my life. I am truly happy with what I am doing.

2. How do you fill your hours?

I leave home around 7:30 a.m. in order to be at the prayer meeting at 7:45. My day is filled with varied responsibilities i.e. leadership team, secretarial, membership care, teach, and more.

I return back home around 6:00 p.m. The weekends are usually filled with catch up and other ministry related activities.

3. How close do you live to your family?

Melanie-Joy, Pablo and boys live about 45 minutes from my home. Pablo comes to the mission every Friday to work in his office so I see him at that time. I am able to drop by from time to time. I love to see the boys developing and learning! They are at the age of discovery. Daniel is 3 years old and loves books and Darian is 17 months and ties to do what Daniel does.

A week ago they spent the day with me (all six of them-their family includes two beautiful dogs). It was great to have them visit grandma.

4. How is your health?

Great.

Highlights of Recent Days

I spent one week at Hume Lake Bible Conference Center where I attended a Membership Care conference sponsored by Link Care Center. It was a great time of soaking in information, ideas and updates in this area of ministry.

On a regular basis I have the opportunity to lead a Bible Study with a group of around 20-25 people who come to receive commodities from us. Most of these are people not oriented in Christian teaching therefore there is a great challenge.

In our Bible Correspondence Department, we have had some renewed interest in the Spanish courses by prisoners with requests for 500 lessons at a time to different prisons. How wonderful. My son-in-law, Pablo is developing the English Bible Correspondence Dept. and God is blessing there as he reaches into the lives of many prisoners in various facilities with these courses.

I am teaching the course, "The Seven Laws of the Teacher" at the Bible Institute. This provides me opportunities to help develop these students as well as to be available for listening and counseling as God leads. There are 28 students in my class. Graduating student, Yasmin feels called to be a missionary in India.

I continue to share with church groups, women and other speaking engagements. I want to communicate His love and also His Great Mandate left for us here on Earth.

Note: I am dependent on you for your standing with me in these turbulent times. God wants to use us together for the Kingdom. My grateful thanks to you. I would like to hear from you.
