Missionaries - Rich & Cindy Robinson

October 2008
Dear Friends,
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Navigators. What Dawson Trotman began as a ministry to California sailors just prior to WWII has grown into a multi-faceted ministry that reaches around the world.
Back then Dawson had no idea what God was going to do through his work with a handful of sailors, but scores of men came to Christ and spread their influence around the world. Today, Navigators still do what those first sailors did: we continue to believe God's promises, work by faith, invest in the lives of the people God gives us, and let Him do the rest!
Cindy and I have had the awesome privilege of watching and being involved with one such life. Many of you may remember our September 2005 newsletter where we introduced you to SMSgt Brenda West,
a new associate Navigator staff member. As Brenda continues her career here in Tucson with the Arizona Air National Guard as well as working with gals from Davis-Monthan AFB, we encourage you to read the enclosed "One to One" publication from last month that includes Brenda's story. Please make time to read Brenda's journey of God's amazing grace and you also will be "Amazed by Grace."
I love this quote from a recent book I read, "Life takes a bit of time and a lot of relationship." My summer started with a special trip to visit a staff guy who literally lives this out every day of the week by serving our soldiers at Camp Casey in South Korea. These precious folks serve our country very near the DMZ and Bill Meyers tirelessly walks along side them and helps them grow in their walk with God. The short time I had with Bill and some of the guys he is working with was an incredible time of building new relationships and
Encouraging them in the many challenges they face daily.
From Korea it was on to Okinawa to meet with Bernie and Jacqui Vanosdall who continue to serve our military troops at Kadena Air Force Base and the surrounding marine installations. Again, this was a great time of nurturing our relationships and being able to meet and spend time with the many lives Bernie and Jacqui have touched through the years. Many thanks to the Vanosdalls who have diligently given their lives away.
Labor Day weekend found Cindy and I in the ever lovely, beautiful state of Hawaii, where there are numerous military installations. We had the honor of spending time with our wonderful staff. They graciously invited me to speak at their annual military conference. Cindy and I appreciated the opportunity to get to know them better as well as interact with many couples and singles they are ministering to. My conclusion? Relationship is happening all over the work and it helps to remind us how much we value our relationship with each one of you.
Thank you for your financial gifts and especially your prayers that enable Cindy and I to faithfully make the most of every opportunity God gives us in advancing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
