“I’m sorry. We have no Bibles in that language. A New Testament?

No, we don’t have any. A gospel booklet? There are none!”

I received similar answers from every publishing house that I contacted as I tried to find some part of the Bible in the Mongolian language. Puji is a new brother in Christ; he and his wife, Su, are very eager to have Bible lessons. We have absolutely nothing to give them in their own language! The old translation is out of print because a new one is in progress. Make a quick count of the Bibles and various translations in your home. How can we allow others to go without God’s word?

I met Puji at an international dinner at our church. He had just finished a semester of ESL (English as a Second Language) classes. Susan and I had been teaching in the program, and we got to know Puji over various ethnic dishes. As the evening ended, I mentioned that I had known another Mongolian student about 15 years before. He had wanted to study the Bible, and, after a period of study, had become a believer in Jesus Christ.

“What was his name?”, Puji asked.

“His name was Mongal. His son’s name was Dava.” I answered.

“That was my older brother.” Puji exclaimed.

Now, besides weekly Bible studies with Puji and Su, I teach two other studies on campus. I also help with a weekly lunch + discussion for international students. Recently, 3 young Arab men, as well as others, participated in a lively discussion about what to do when problems arise. Each one – living far from home and family – received God’s promise from Genesis 28:15: “I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go.”

What a joy it is for us, and particularly for Susan, to be developing a deep and close friendship with a Turkish believer who now lives in the Denver area. Whatever we may offer her in support, she repays by sharing with us her walk of faith with the Lord Jesus. Praying and worshipping with her bring our beloved land and language back into our everyday lives.

Samuel Elijah is here. We are delighted to introduce our new grandson. Andrew and Sonja welcomed him into their home on September 26th. Jasmine and Benjamin adore their new brother.

Pray and Act behalf of those who need Bibles and those who produce them; of immigrants and foreign students living among us; of Turkish saints living under difficult circumstances in Turkey and abroad.

Faithfully, your partners,

Kraig and Susan Meyer
