Missionaries - Al & Sue Graham
May 2009
Dear Co-workers of Grace Church,
We can’t tell you how much we appreciate your gift of $100.00 that comes to us each month for the work of God among the Satere people of Brazil. We would be hard put to tell you the exact number of years that you wonderful people have been a part of the team to give God’s Word to the Satere as well as minister to them. We trust that you will reap blessings and rewards here as well as when you meet our Lord face to face and fellowship with Satere Indians who are there and will be there because of your prayers and your gifts. Thank you for staying with us when Mission felt that it was time for us to retire.
We have been spending much of our time here in Tucson, AZ caring for Sue’s mother. We are very grateful to have this opportunity to be here with Sue’s mother and try to make things as nice for her as we can as she approaches her 100th birthday in December. We keep busy, but we are able to continue our work.
We had hoped to return to Brazil in June, but there needs to be someone here living with Sue’s mother. Our oldest daughter, Karen, called from Brazil and said that if we would wait until September she would love to come to the States to be with Grandmother during our absence. Our date for entering the Tribe is September 3rd. We will probably leave San Diego sometime the end of August.
We are really looking forward to a time of fellowship with the Satere and also being able to go over some corrections in the Old Testament. We look forward to hearing from the people all that God is doing in their lives and in the life of the Church. They appreciate our being there to listen and pray with them. We always come away with many things for which to praise the Lord and also challenges to pray for certain people or certain situations.
We are not young and praise God daily that we are able to go on serving with you and doing all that we can to make the Satere rich in Christ.
We are enclosing a letter that we received from one of our translation helpers. Testimonies like this warm our hearts and we trust that it will do the same for you. He is the young man who was bitten by a snake in his younger years and lost his leg. Not sure if this was during your time in Brazil or not. It was the gifts of God’s people that provided a prosthesis for him.
Thanks again for being workers together with us,
Because of His Grace,
Al & Sue Graham
