*Our logo is an aerial view of Interstates 8 and 805 with our location highlighted by the white box. * We want to take people where they are an help them move in the direction that God wills for their life.

We believe that the church is like a map in a mall.  It always reads, "YOU ARE HERE." Once you know where you are you can find out where you need to go.  We love to see people move in the direction of God's leading.

A dynamic teacher and conference speaker, Dr. Tim Scott has been preaching and teaching the Word of God for over 30 years and has served as Senior Pastor for 25 years.  He has studied philosophy, psychology, theology, and Biblical exegesis. His Ph.D. is in new Testament Theology. Tim has been senior pastor at Grace San Diego (formerly Scott Memorial) since 1992 where he lives with his wife and children.  He also hosted Dr. Scott Live!... a radio talk show for several years. He provides a great blend of serious theological academia, passionate spirituality and slightly quirky humor. His objective is to point believers toward an accurate application of God's Word in their daily lives

Church History

Grace Church has served as a spiritual lighthouse in the San Diego area since 1909, when a retired Civil War Captain, Chaplain Winfield Scott held his first meeting. When the chapel was half completed, his old Army wounds began to limit his physical ability and forced him to return to his home in Arizona. Shortly after that, he went to be with the Lord. Mrs. Scott, intent on finishing the San Diego project, mortgaged her home to complete the chapel. In 1912, the Sunday school group decided to organize into a Community Church, naming it Scott Memorial Community Church, in memory of Chaplain Scott.

Under the leadership of Pastor Tim LaHaye, a multi purpose gymnasium was built in 1958, followed by a new auditorium in 1962. Later a two story building was erected, in order to house church offices, Sunday school classes and the library. Christian High School spent its first eight years in this building, beginning in 1965. Christian Heritage College shared this facility at the time of its founding in 1970.

The name of the church was changed to Grace San Diego in 2007.
